  • He started playing tennis when he was just 3 years old. His grandfather would often take him to a local park where he could practice.
  • At the youth tier, Brandon had reached a peak world ranking of number 3. In 2018, he won the ITF (International Tennis Federation) Junior Masters title, the year-end tournament for the top-ranked junior singles players.
  • He had come into the spotlight on the senior circuit when he broke into the ‘Top 100’ of the official ATP singles rankings for the first time in his career in August 2021 after reaching his first two ATP Tour finals in successive tournaments – the 2021 Los Cabos Open and the 2021 Atlanta Open.
  • At the first of those tournaments, Brandon had become the youngest American to reach the final of an ATP Tour event since 2016. After the latter tournament, he had achieved a singles world ranking of 89, exactly a day before his 20th birthday.
  • This breakthrough into the ‘Top 100’ had helped him qualify for the 2021 Next Generation ATP Finals, the year-end tournament for the top-ranked singles players aged 21 and under. He went on to reach the semi-final of the tournament and end the season with a career-high singles world ranking of 62.
  • At the 2022 French Open, Brandon reached the 3rd round of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career. At the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, he reached the 4th of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career.
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic, he donated more than 40 pairs of shoes to urgent care physicians and nurses in Sorrento Mesa, a neighborhood in northwestern San Diego.
  • In November 2022, Brandon won ATP’s Next Gen Finals in Milan after defeating Jiří Lehečka of Czech Republic.
